The show was so good. Phil played a really gentle, beautiful set with lots of new songs and old favorites. The fog machines filled the auditorium with swirling clouds of sweet-smelling mist, and there was a perfect chill in the air from an open side door that reminded us that the world was outside whenever a car drove past the dark street. During the "I will find you"s in "In Moonlight," I felt that familiar ache that I love, imagining myself the reincarnation of an old wife- a lost love- who's found her wandering husband after lifetimes of phantom longing, now distant and unattainable though only a few feet away. Tears swelled up in my eyes for just a moment before the feeling passed.
